Co-founder of Dreamworks @ Stanford

A few weeks ago during View from the Top at Stanford GSB we had the pleasure to listen to Jeffrey Katzenberg, Co-founder and Former CEO of Dreamworks Animation. My 5 key takeaways from his talk are:

1) Original+unique = risk = higher degree of failure. To get original and unique one must allow failure and risk taking.

2) Read!!

3) The success of Dreamworks was in the diversity of its partners: the dreamer, the entrepreneur and the operator. I am the builder and the operator.

4) Team selection is like casting - define what skills/character you need and find a great person to do it.

5) The future is in the intersection of video and technology
